Western River Resources began from a place of frustration from a problem it seemed no one was willing to solve. Being in the sheep industry, you discover quickly it is not a large world. There are tight networks that can be difficult to break into, especially if you are new. Searching for information or advice on the internet typically leads you down a rabbit trail of articles and videos that often can be impractical, unscientific, and untested. If you are lucky, you stumble upon some solid information. The problem is that unless you have done it for years it’s difficult to know what is sound advice and what isn’t. This leaves many people either afraid to get into the business, or leads down a path of making many costly mistakes.

This is why we exist. Our aim is to solve this problem for the sheep industry. We want to be an ally for every producer with an entrepreneurial vision and a passion for sheep. We want to be a well of knowledge that is easy to access, and to form a network of people that welcomes the newcomer.

Western River Resources is a collection of producers who learned things the hard way, have mined out the best advice, and spent years developing successful and profitable commercial operations. We want share the collective wisdom we possess to help people skip the costly learning curve.
